The ACC Baseball Championship field is set, with an absolutely loaded field competing Tuesday through Sunday in Charlotte for both the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Baseball Championship and all-important high-seed status in that 64-team bracket.

Seven schools in the 12-team ACC event — including all four of the league’s North Carolina-based programs — bring consensus Top 25 rankings to Truist Field in uptown Charlotte: North Carolina, Clemson, Florida State, NC State, Virginia, Wake Forest and Duke.

ACC School (Overall, ACC Records)
Rankings (L-R): Baseball America, D1 Baseball, RPI

North Carolina (41-12, 22-8)—#3, #7, #4
Clemson (40-13, 20-10)—#10, #3, #7
Florida State (39-14, 17-12)—#11, #10, #8
NC State (32-19, 18-11)—#7, #12, #14
Virginia (40-14, 18-12)—#13, #16, #12
Wake Forest (36-19, 15-15)—#9, #22, #11
Duke (35-18, 16-14)—#16, #17, #20

While each of those seven teams is assured of an invitation to the NCAA Baseball Championship, even without winning the ACC title, they hope to improve their resumes because of the massive advantages associated with being a top-eight seed (all home games until the College World Series) or a top-16 seed (guaranteed Regional host) in the Big Bracket.

Beyond the ACC’s top seven teams, Georgia Tech is trying to stay on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble, while Virginia Tech is aiming to move up from “First Four Out” status in many projections.

Louisville, Miami and Pitt likely would have to win the ACC championship, and secure the league’s automatic NCAA bid, to extend their postseason.

As the bottom two squads in the 14-team ACC regular-season standings, Boston College (22-31, 8-22 ACC) and Notre Dame (27-25, 9-21) did not make the field for the ACC Baseball Championship.
