Florida State’s Vassell Leads ACC Products

The National Basketball Association entered its best-of-seven championship round on June 3, with the Eastern Conference-winning New York Knicks visiting the Western Conference-winning San Antonio Spurs.
Four former Atlantic Coast Conference players were on those remaining NBA playoff rosters, representing four of the league’s 18 schools.
The only ACC product who had been a full-time playoff starter on either the Spurs or the Knicks was former Florida State star Devin Vassell. A second-team All-ACC player for the Seminoles, Vassell was a first-round draft pick (11th overall) for San Antonio in 2020.
Duke, Georgia Tech and North Carolina also had one former player each on a team that was still competing into mid-June.
Former Georgia Tech point guard Jose Alvarado was the only ACC product on the Knicks, who acquired him in a midseason trade with New Orleans. An All-ACC player during his junior (2020) and senior seasons (2021) in Atlanta, Alvarado helped the Yellow Jackets to the 2021 ACC championship, the program’s first since 1993.
Below is the complete “ACC In 2026 NBA Playoffs” list, which includes brief summaries of the final-round participants’ 2026 postseason statistics. One of the players (as noted) listed transferred away from an ACC program and completed his college career at a non-ACC school.
